We were looking for a good Mexican food on our way to a concert. WOW, this place delivered. First, the owners and staff take immense pride in the location, the service was excellent. Their tag line says, Welcome Amigos! Come and enjoy traditional Mexican food and feel treated like family. The physical location is not loaded with frills, it is a humble family restaurant. You will find two televisions, likely showing soccer, in our case, Uruguay versus Brazil in the Copa America tournament (Uruguay advanced on PKs). The food was really good. I enjoyed the Tom's Burrito which was delicious, and a great value. Carne Asada with beans, guacamole, sour cream, onions, and topped with their medium spicy green sauce, with cheese inside and on top. It has some spicy kick! My wife enjoyed a taco combo with a twist. She got one of their special Tacos Gobernador, also known as Governor's Tacos, which is a delicious Mexican dish that originated in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico. It is like a deep friend taco, hers featured sautéed beef and melted cheese, all wrapped up in a warm, crispy tortilla. She also got a plain beef taco. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. The complimentary chips and salsa were also a hit. They have a variety of Mexican beers AND can also make a good margarita. Thanks to the staff for a delicious and memorable experience. Delicioso!
The food here was very excellent. We are visiting from out of town and chose Zacatecas because it was close by and had excellent reviews. The chips and salsa were good, although it is not unlimited. They let us choose where to sit, and the service was awesome. We were checked on plenty of times! The quesabirria tacos were a special when we visited, and they were the best I've had yet! The consome was super hot and flavorful. The taquitos and enchiladas were also delicious. We ordered carne asada tacos to go, and the meat was tasty and marinated well, and the dish was packed nicely.
Very good. Don't go to the other restaurant. Everything about the wet burrito was just proper.
Delicious! Excellent service from the moment we walked in to when we left. It's hard to find good Mexican food in this area that also has a liquor license so we will definitely be back. We had chili relleno, enchiladas, quesadilla and tacos I just forgot to take pictures of half of it before we destroyed the plates it was so good. Their red sauce was perfection. I will say there was no music playing and maybe that was just a mistake but music is nice with dinner, so hopefully next time we go there will be some tunes.
I came here for lunch. Parking lot is very small. The place was very busy, but the service was great. We were greeted immediately as we walked in. I like shrimp, so I got the Al Mojo de Ajo (Shrimp sautéed in garlic). The plate was big and came with three tortillas. The food was very tasty (although the garlic should be more on the shrimp than on the beans), and I was very full at the end.
If you haven't had Zacatecas, you are missing out in life. Their burritos are out of this world and with generous portions. I got the Tom's Burrito which is a wet burrito filled with amazing goodness. When I was describing the burrito I wanted to the restaurant staff, he suggested I get Tom's Burrito and I did not regret a single bite. 10/10 recommend!! Either come hungry or be prepared to accept defeat. I had to pack half of it and save it for a second meal. Not that I'm complaining to get a 2 for 1 meal out of it. When you walk into Zacatecas, it's like walking into your Mexican's friend's family dining room where it feels like a family. The wait staff is unbelievably friendly and talkative. They were super attentive and refilled out tortilla chips fast. The food itself is very rustic and reminds me of family cooking. It's not about the aesthetics but about the portion and flavor. We ordered the carne asada plate and it was very good. The Governor tacos were delicious as well. The food is probably a 4-star review, but the ambiance really makes it a 5-star experience. (Side note, management at Zacatecas is also very kind. There was a homeless man hanging out at the doorway clearly hungry, and one of the lead waiter brought him a small burrito and coke. That's kindness right there.)
Super friendly service, delicious food and always a great dining experience! Tom's burrito is a solid choice. Milanesa steak platter is a MONSTER - so good! Salsa is excellent. Albondigas is yummy. Shredded beef tacos, an old standby. Reasonably priced, delicious food always served with a smile. Love Zacatecas - 5 stars!
A fantastic Mexican food restaurant with authentic flavors. First off, their chips and salsa are addicting! The salsa is so delicious. We had a hard time trying to stop eating it. Be careful! I ordered the Chile Verde plate which comes with rice and beans. It's crazy good. Probably the best I've had ever. The flavors are so authentic. My partner had the 7 mares Soup as well and it had so much seafood! The service is on point. Always making sure we got what we needed. The decor is nothing special but it reminded me of places in some parts of Mexico. Overall I loved it here and will return for that Chile verde for sure.
